Why elevation matters
At 8,000 feet you get about 25% less oxygen in every breath.
That shows up quietly: shallow breathing, a 3 AM wake-up, a higher resting heart rate, heavy legs on the first morning. Your body does adjust — in seven to ten days. Most mountain trips are four to seven.
Richer oxygen overnight, or for a few hours a day, closes that gap now instead of on the flight home. Guests arriving from sea level, active skiers and hikers, and anyone staying higher up tend to notice the difference most. Results vary; ask your physician with any questions.
