What elevation does to the body
At 7,000 feet the air holds roughly a quarter less oxygen than it does at sea level. The body compensates by breathing faster and deeper and by raising the heart rate slightly, and most people adjust over two to four days.
During that adjustment, visitors commonly notice lighter sleep, a mild headache, less appetite, quicker fatigue on stairs, and dry skin or throat. These are ordinary responses to thinner, drier air rather than signs that something is wrong.
Who tends to notice it most
Guests who fly in directly from sea level feel the change most sharply, because there is no gradual step up in elevation. Older travelers, young children, and people living with respiratory or cardiac conditions also tend to feel it sooner and longer.
Arriving late at night, exercising hard on day one, and alcohol all make the first days more noticeable. Hydration, an easy first afternoon and a good night of sleep make them less so.
How supplemental oxygen can help
Supplemental oxygen raises the amount of oxygen in each breath, which many guests find makes sleep, morning energy and general comfort at elevation feel closer to home. A stationary unit beside the bed is the most common choice, and a portable unit covers daytime outings.
This is about comfort on a trip, not treatment. Use is entirely at your discretion and best discussed with someone who knows your health history.
Our equipment and handling
Every concentrator is disinfected with manufacturer-approved products between guests, filters are inspected and replaced on schedule, and nasal cannulas and tubing are new and sealed for each rental. Units are placed, powered on and tested before you arrive.
If anything about the unit seems off, stop using it and contact us — we troubleshoot immediately and swap units, usually the same day.
A note on scope

We recommend consulting your physician before using supplemental oxygen, and following any guidance they give you about flow rate or device type. Our rentals are intended for comfort during travel and are not intended for emergency medical situations — in an emergency, call 911.
