About Us

Who we are

A little about me I raced mountain bikes collegiately and professionally — go Fort Lewis Skyhawks — picked up a few national titles along the way, and had the honor of racing for Team USA across Europe and South America. These days my podium finishes have been replaced by school pickups, but I still commit to one big race a year, just to keep myself young and a little bit sprite. And about Shannon Shannon makes some of the best homemade food you'll find in the state, and she can out-lift me on both form and weight — she's the real deal. She was also born and raised in New Orleans, so if you want to talk sea level, humidity, or jambalaya, she's your woman. Altitude, on the other hand, was a whole new game for her. How Surf Mtn actually started A few years back we took the family to Breckenridge to race the Breck Epic. After a full summer of training, Shannon took the race promoter's advice and rented an oxygen concentrator to help us recover overnight. Honestly, at 40 years old and in decent shape, that had never crossed my mind. But we'd already put in the work — why not sleep better and recover faster while we were at it? The concentrator showed up at our condo that evening, and the rest is history. We had extra cannulas, so we shared it with an older family member who was struggling to sleep, and a fellow racer who'd stop by for a couple hits of high-octane oxygen before bed. Racing at 9,500 feet and higher all week, I felt genuinely great every single day. (Shannon's cherry juice probably deserves some credit too — she'll never let me forget it.) We saw the difference it made, in ourselves and in the people around us, and we couldn't unsee it.

Why Surf Mtn exists

Every mountain trip has a list of things you did not know to bring. For visitors to Park City, oxygen is often on it — usually discovered on the first restless night at 7,000 feet, when the nearest option is a supply store across the valley that closes at five.

Surf Mtn started there: get the right equipment into the house before the guest arrives, set it up properly, and be reachable if anything comes up. Hosts and property managers look great, and guests get a trip that starts well instead of starting tired.

How we handle equipment safety

Every concentrator is disinfected between rentals using manufacturer-approved products, inside and out. Filters are inspected on return and replaced on a set schedule, and any unit that shows a fault is pulled from inventory until it is serviced.

Nasal cannulas and tubing are new and sealed for every guest, never reused. Before you arrive, the unit is placed, powered on and tested in the room, and we leave a one-page guide with a number you can text.

Where we're going

Oxygen is the first category, not the last, and Park City is the first town. Everything you forgot to pack, delivered — that is the whole idea, and we would rather do one thing exceptionally well before adding the next.

A note on scope

Surf Mtn is an equipment rental provider, not a medical provider. Please consult your physician before using supplemental oxygen. Our rentals are not intended for emergency medical situations.
